  • What Position Should Handle be When Installing Receiver of Stealth Hitch For 2019 Tesla Model 3
  • When installing the receiver of the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # 391TES317 in your 2019 Tesla Model 3, the handle should be turned clockwise so the longer portion is facing towards the front of the vehicle. That can be a bit difficult to explain without seeing, so I've added a cut out for you below so you can see how the handle should be of the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # 391TES317. The button is part of the latching mechanism; it is a visual indicator that will go...

  • Does Curt Hitch for 2019 Tesla Model 3 Require Use of Stabilizer Straps
  • At one point Curt used to require a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load with their lower capacity hitches like the Curt # C45FR that you referenced but currently that is not a requirement so you would not need to worry about that!

  • Install Video for EcoHitch on 2022 Tesla Model 3
  • The trailer hitch options we offer for a 2022 Tesla Model 3 are the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR and Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # 391TES317. These are both very similar hidden hitches but the Stealth has a major advantage in that you can remove and install the receiver without tools so it will be much easier and less time consuming. In regards to install, I have attached a video we did on the Stealth but we don't have any on the EcoHitch at this...

  • Correct Hub Setting for Yakima FullBack on 2021 Tesla Model 3
  • Sure can! You'll want to set the hub to 3 when installing the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack # Y02633 on your 2021 Tesla Model 3. You'll also want to adjust the bike rack so that the base pad is 1" above the bumper for proper fitment. The top hooks will need to be installed in anchor mode as well. You can see how this is installed in the instructions or by looking at the attached video I shot on a 2020 Audi Q7. If you jump to the 3:24 minute mar of the video you'll see me explain how to change...

  • Does the EcoHitch for 2018 Tesla Model 3 Have Safety Chain Loops
  • Yes. The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR has safety chain loops on the downward tube that the receiver will insert into. Since it sounds like you'll be towing, you will also need a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. For wiring I recommend using the Tekonsha ZCI # 119250KIT which allows you to clamp on to the vehicle's wiring instead of splicing in, so it's a great solution for vehicles with complicated electrical systems. For a ball mount and hitch ball I recommend...

  • Do You Need to Cut Bumper on 2020 Tesla Model 3 for EcoHitch Receiver
  • On previous models of the Tesla model 3, which the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch # EH84GR was also confirmed to fit, it was indeed a requirement that a section of the bumper fascia be cut to allow space for the drop-down receiver. A separate piece would then be recommended to cover this opening when the hitch wasn't in use to avoid exposure to the elements. The good news though is that with your 2020 Model 3, Tesla has made this process much simpler by adding a factory panel right where...

  • The Thule Helium Pro 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum, part # TH9042PRO, is a hanging bike rack that secures the bikes at three points, the front and rear end of the top tube and the seat tube. The front wheel and handlebars of the bike are not secure. You could secure the wheel to the mast of the Thule Helium with a strap to keep the wheels from spinning. Do keep in mind this hitch bike rack has a weight limit of 37.5 lbs per bike. I have included a video review...

  • Does the Ecohitch Part # EH84GR Require Trimming on my 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • There is just one modification that needs to be made to install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 on your 2020 Tesla Model 3. You will have to open up the hole to allow the receiver portion to be inserted. The hole panel is already there on the models 2019 and newer, so you are not technically cutting. It is more of a knockout provided by Tesla. I have linked an installation video we did on the 2021 Model 3 to show exactly what you will be modifying.

  • Required Fascia Cutting When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • When installing the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR on 2018 Tesla Model 3's they needed to cut a 3-1/2" or 4" oval l(the larger opening will just give you more clearance to work with) on the underbody trim to make room for the drop-down 2" receiver. However, on the 2019 models and newer, there is a knockout panel provided so that trimming is not necessary. I have attached an installation video that you can also check out.

  • In order to use your wireless brake controller with your travel trailer and 2020 Tesla Model 3 you will need the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L. This will indeed require a 12 volt connection from the wiring harness that comes with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver with Towing Kit # 391TES317T. For a mounting bracket for the 7-way you will need the Magnetic Mounting Bracket # 306-X6020. I have added a link to a video install for...

  • Is There a Knockout Section In Under Body Panel on 2020 Tesla Model 3 for Stealth Hitch
  • In regards to the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # 391TES317 which is a fit for a 2020 Tesla Model 3, there will need to be an opening made in the underbody panel to allow for the receiver to protrude through. In some cases, there is already a knock out panel in this location but others there's not. I don't really have any advice for obtaining an underbody panel with this knockout so I must simply recommend that you make the cuts as outlined in the instructions. I've heard...

  • Is Aftermarket Factory Cover Plate Available for Hitch Installation on 2018 Tesla Model 3
  • Since you do not have the removable factory cover plate the only option is to cut the gravel guard and leave the hole there when installing the # 391TES317. This won't really be noticeable or cause any harm to the vehicle. Unfortunately, nobody makes any kind of replacement panel you could use. You might be able to get a shop to rig something up using the piece from cutout but I don't know how effective that would be. The only other option would be to talk to Tesla and swap out the whole...

  • Installing EcoHitch Stealth Receiver # EH84GR on 2018 Tesla Model 3
  • I see exactly what you are referring to with regards to the plates that need to be removed on the Tesla Model 3 when installing the EcoHitch # EH84GR. There is no need to worry though about rust or corrosion in that area because the mounting brackets for the hitch will essentially be taking their place. Using the included nylon washers and bolts the hitch brackets will create a tight seal at that location to prevent anything from creeping in between them and the frame. Once the hitch is...

  • Installing EcoHitch Stealth Receiver on 2020 Tesla Model 3 and Concerns with Vehicle Rust
  • That is a great question. Installing the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR does indeed require that a 3-1/2" or 4" oval be cut on the underbody trim to allow clearance for the 2" drop-down receiver on 2018 models and older. The 2019 models and newer have a cut out already so no trimming is necessary. Since the drop-down receiver can actually be removed when you aren't towing, I definitely see your concern about this opening a door for the elements to creep in and potentially...

  • Is Cutting a Hole In the Bumper Required for the EcoHitch Stealth Hitch On a 2020 Tesla Model 3
  • The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR is an excellent option for a 2020 Tesla Model 3. The newer models has a hitch knockout panel under the rear bumper which is where the receiver tube will exit so no cutting or drilling will be required for this step. The older models did not have this knockout panel which is where the note is from.

  • Required Fascia Cutting When Installing EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2019 Tesla Model 3
  • The installation instructions for the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR call for either a 3-1/2 inch or 4 inch hole saw. The advantage for the larger 4 inch hole is just more hand clearance to allow for easier mounting when inserting the receiver. I honestly just recommend going with the smallest possible hole (3-1/2 inches) as I'm sure you aren't overly enthused to cut into your Tesla's bumper fascia. HOWEVER, we have found that cutting is only needed on models before 2019....

  • How Does the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller Get Brake Signal?
  • The Curt Echo # C51180 picks up the brake lamp signal which then tells the controller that the brakes are being applied, and at the same time the internal accelerometer is telling the unit how quickly and with how much force the brakes are being applied. As far as a less bulky option that is in a 7-way style like the Echo there unfortunately is not going to be another option. We do have the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR which is just a knob and would be the least bulkiest...
